Delhi and Amritsar
The tour commenced in Delhi, starting with the Jama Masjid Mosque (one of the largest in India). This was followed by a rickshaw ride around Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest, busiest, and most iconic market areas in Old Delhi.
From here we went on to visit Raj Ghat, Gandhi's cremation site and then onto Agrasen-Ki Baoli, a centuries old step well.
We also got to view the India Gate War Memorial, the Red Fort and a number of impressive Government buildings.
The day was completed with a visit to Qutub Minar, the highest tower in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Following a long train journey to Amritsar our first activity was to the Golden Temple in the evening to experience the spiritual Palki ceremony 'the putting to bed' of the holy book 'Guru Granth Sahib.
Another trip to explore the Golden Temple and its setup and distribution of food to thousands of pilgrims in the morning along with a visit to the Jallianwala Bagh completed our time in Amritsar.
